Sneaking a quick Halloween post in just under the wire! Things have been busy and we’re gearing up for Holiday 2016 and another Pop Up Shop! Save the Date: December 3rd Noon until 5 at Julia Moss Designs. Nicole will have her Barbies there as well.
Back to Halloween! Our friends Brian (of LochNessMPLS) and Jon always host a fabulous and color themed party. This year was a Ghostly Tea Party in black, white and blue.
Brian always creates an amazing photo backdrop with matching decor and Jon makes the food (Ina inspired). Michael couldn’t get enough of the mini BLTs and I was hitting the herb butter and baguette pretty hard. We made Martha Stewart’s “Ladies’ Fingers” (recipe here). They were creepy and fun and I made a batch of butter cream brains to plant them in.
My costume had been planned out for months. I decided to have my signature print done as a head to toe outfit inspired by Katya of RuPaul’s Drag Race fame. I worked with Christopher Straub of Season 6 Project Runway.
I also stopped by one of my Drag Queen gal pals for some pointers. (Also, thanks to Emily @ Sephora for always having my back). Last year Michael was Fabio-with a boner. So he kept up the adult theme with Magnum PI with a little extra. Also, my best friend flew in from Atlanta and decided to go as a Bavarian Oktoberfest “Lady”. I decided to accessorize with only candy necklace earrings and Saint Laurent stiletto sandals with pink pom poms and a Longchamp clutch. (and I kept my 6 inch Saint Laurent Pumps on for 6 hours) Everyone’s costumes were fab! Brian was The Mod Hatter. Jon was Hamilton. Paula a bird in a cage, Brett came as a rocker and changed into Gaga’s Joanne…one of my faves. The party was really fun!!!! Enjoy the pics! I’m knee deep in Holiday prep!
PS: I created my hair out of 5 wigs and I also did Marc’s. Who knew? 😉
